My first easel card!

Some of my best friends have just announced their engagement & I wanted to make them a special card so I thought I'd try an easel card as I have never tried it before & I always think they look great.
I am going to be their bridesmaid & I know that the colour theme of the wedding is going to be purple & silver. I also know that they want swirls & butterflies on their wedding invitations as they have asked me to help them make them. They asked me if they would put them on their engagement card too!
I used a MS corner punch for the corners of the card & added purple gems to the centres. I stamped a silver swirl using my Inkadinkado Flourish Dot stamps & added clear & purple gems. I punched out four purple vellum butterflies using the MS large monarch butterfly punch. I added silver embossing powder to two of them & heated it with my heat gun & stuck them on top of the plain purple butterflies. I added two gems to the bodies. Finally I added a Craftwork Cards Congratulations sentiment.
I'm really happy with how it turned out & was surprised how much easier an easel card is to make than I had imagined. The photo isn't very good as I took it early this morning when I was in a rush to get to work & the light wasn't very good.
I gave them the card today & they absolutely love it.

Somas Birthday card

This is the birthday card that I made for Soma, I hope she liked it.
I used my LOTV Unicorn stamp & coloured it in using my Sakura pens. I used a white souffle pen & my pink & yellow glitter ones. I used a water brush on the pink & yellow to soften the colours. I added glitter glue around the edges of the stamp & layered this onto a nestie label & then added it to a card blank. I added card candy & a sentiment to finish it off.

Another LOTV Baby Card

A friend at work recently had a little boy which they've named Aidan. I immediately reached for my LOTV baby stamp to make them a card! I coloured him in using my Promarkers & added a little bit of glitter. I cut out a frame of blue baby paper using my square nesties. I then added some card candy & his name in peel offs.

Dragonllews Birthday Card

This is the card that I made for Jenny aka Dragonllew for her birthday.
I simply cut a strip of blue backing paper from my stash to match the blue card blank & a strip of thin white card. I stuck some sticky lace edging on, added the strips & then added a butterfly & Happy Birthday peel off. I didn't have ages to make the card as I remembered I had to make it at the last minute, but I was quite happy with how it has turned out!

My Grandas Birthday Card

It was my Grandas 86th birthday on Wednesday. For as long as I can remember my Granda has had a greenhouse & grown tomatoes so when I saw this image, I knew it was perfect for him. I coloured it using my Promarkers & I added Glossy Accents to the tomatoes. The backing paper is from the Papermania Secret Garden pack & I thought it matched the colours I had used on the picture perfectly. I also added some card candy in matching colours.

Christening card

This is the christening card I made for the christening we went to last Sunday.  I used a LOTV stamp & coloured it in with Promarkers & added some glitter glue. The aperture card was from my stash. I embossed some white card to use as the backing behind the image. I then added some card candy (with glitter added) & a peel off sentiment

Another Bear & Butterflies

I made this card following the sketch on Lili of the Valleys Challenge Blog.
I used my LOTV Bear & Butterflies stamp, coloured it in using promarkers & then cut out the image with a circle nestie on my Cuttlebug. I embossed a lilac piece of paper from my stash using a butterflies embossing folder & stuck this to the front of the cardstock & layered the image on top. I cut out a pink & a lilac butterfly using my MS Large Monarch butterfly punch & stuck these together, I added some glitter glue to the centre for the body. I then added two flowers from my stash & added gems to the centre (from Poundland!). Finally I added a strip of pink flowers along the bottom & stuck a Craftwork Cards sentiment to the middle of it. I coloured the sentiment with a lilac dew drop ink pad so it matched the backing paper & butterflies.

Augusts Crafty Place Card Swap

This is the gorgeous card that I received from Caroline (aka CT19720) in the Crafty Place card swap. I absolutely love it!

MSE Red & Green Challenge

When Artydoll set the MSE challenge of making a card using red & green I wasn't sure what to do as they are not the colours that I usually use. I spent ages wondering what to do & then remembered about my little dragon stamp from Lili of the Valley & decided to use him & colour him in using a green Sakura glaze pen & a red Sakura (sparkly) Tiara pen. I had some handmade red & green papers in my stash so I cut them in my Cuttlebug using a nestie & then layered them across the card & stuck the dragon on top. I then added red & green card candy from Craftwork cards to finish the card off.

Bear & Butterflies

I haven't had much time to make any cards over the past few days but I managed to make this one quickly! The scalloped card blank is from Craftwork cards & the cute little bear image is a die cut from Lili of the Valley. I rounded the edges of the die cut as I thought it matched the card blank better like this. I stuck the die cut on the card with 3d foam pads & then added some little pink gem flowers from my stash.

This is a picture of me & my friends at a cocktail making class we went to for my birthday last year (just incase you are wondering, I'm the one 2nd from the right). It makes me smile because we had such a great night & it was such a fab present! Just realised I said that I like being tall & I don't look tall at all on this photo coz I'm bending down! lol

A simple butterfly

This is another simple card that I made using up some of my stash. I started with the purple butterfly which I layered onto a square of black card & then added these to a square of purple card. I decided to round off all the corners of the squares to make it look a bit different. I then added lots of purple gems to add a bit of bling!

Birthday Wishes

I made this simple card with things from my stash. I stamped the flourishes (Inkadinkado Dot Flourishes clear stamps) with dew drop ink pads. I then coloured a white sparkly star with the same ink pads. I used sticky gems & stars to add a bit of sparkle to the shooting stars trail. Finally I added a little sentiment.

Embossing & Promarkers

For this card, I decided to try something I've not done before. I embossed a scalloped square with my cuttlebug & then coloured it in with my promarkers. I wasn't sure how it would turn out but I am quite happy with the result.

Baby Cards

I made these cards as my cousin is due to give birth (she's overdue by a few days now). As we don't know what sex the baby is going to be, I thought I'd make one for both a girl & a boy!

Out of this world

I made this little card for Ali Bs MSE Out of this World challenge.

I embossed the black cardstock with my Cuttlebug using a Crafts Too Star embossing folder. I then used a silver dew drop ink pad to highlight the stars & make it look a bit more atmospheric. I then added these cute little space invader stickers that I got in the Accessorize sale.

Blog for my photos

As well as cardmaking, I really love taking photos. Instead of adding all my favourite photos on here, I decided to set up a new blog. Feel free to have a look! I've only added a few photos so far but will be adding lots more over the next few days.

Get Well Soon

I made this card for my Mams cousin Eileen who is in hospital at the moment.

I stamped the image onto card with my new memento ink pad (which I love) & then coloured it in using promarkers. I rounded the corners of the card. To go behind the image, I embossed some pale blue pearlescent card in my cuttlebug with a Craftstoo butterfly folder & then rounded the corners on this too. I layered them & then stuck them onto a card blank from Craftwork cards which I had punched the side of with the MS pop up butterfly edger. I added glitter glue to the butterflies on the edge of the card & added some card candy from Craftwork Cards, which I also glittered. To finish I added the Get Well Soon sentiment which was also from Craftwork Cards.

I am really happy with how this card turned out!

Another Bunny

This is another card that I made with the Lili of the Valley Die cut design sheet. The flowers, card candy & scalloped square are all from Craftwork Cards. I added some gold outline peel offs to highlight the bunny image a bit more.

My first attempt at using Promarkers

I got myself some Promarkers when they were half price at Hobbycraft & this is my first attempt at using them. I was really pleased with how it turned out. Let me know what you think

New Baby Card

My friends Emma & Thomas recently had their first child, a little girl called Ellie. This is the card that I made them.

The card blank & card candy are from Craftwork Cards. I added a little bit of glitter glue to the candy. The image & sentiment are both Kanban.

Badger Birthday Card

I made this card for my friends birthday last Thursday.

The badger decoupage is Patchwork Kingdom & is from The Woodland Collection. I used the MS Floral Lace edge punch down the side of the card & added pink & lemon pearls from my stash to the centre of the flowers to match the stripes on the badgers head. The sticky ribbon & sentiment were also from my stash.

Mmmm cupcakes!

I made this card for my best friends birthday. She loves cherries so I knew she'd like this. The cupcakes & cherry ribbon are from Dawn Bibbys cupcake kit made by Kanban & the sentiment is from Craftwork Cards. I've added Glossy Accents to the cherries to make them nice & shiny. I'm planning on making her some cupcakes too.

Birthday bunny

I'm back at last! Hopefully I'll get lots of my cards added over the next few days.

For this one I used the lovely rabbit die cut image from Lili of the Valley. I simply rounded the corners of the die cut & stuck it on a scalloped card blank from Craftwork Cards. I used Glossy Accents on the balloon which doesn't really show up in the picture but it looks really effective. The purple scalloped circle & sentiment are both from Craftwork Cards. I then added the little butterflies to match the scalloped circle & these were from my stash.
